What we do
BASICS Devon volunteer medics help save lives in communities across rural Devon and can be at your side in minutes, day or night. Responding to incidents at the request of the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust they provide an additional tier of medical support supplementing the excellent service provided by our local ambulance crews.
We receive no government funding and rely solely on donations.
Our committed volunteer doctors make themselves available around the clock throughout the year. They are often first on the scene be it at the roadside, in a field, on a farm or a home emergency. Operating since 1992, our qualified and experienced doctors live in rural areas uniquely placed to best support their remote communities. Some are close to accident black spots. Severely injured patients are more likely to survive the sooner that emergency care begins, and the doctors are able to help to reduce their pain and suffering.
With call outs increasing BASICS Devon needs your support. You can help save more lives in your local area. Anytime. Anywhere in Devon. Support us today and help BASICS Devon continue their vital lifesaving service to your local community.
