Stuart Batten was out cycling last summer, when two friends collided with each other requiring emergency services to be contacted.
Stuart explains what happened ' BASICS Devon were first on scene and carried out triage until an ambulance arrived. After finding out the vital role BASICS Devon provide supporting the South Western Ambulance Service, my running club South Devon Athletic Club chose to support the charity. '
Dr Simon Scott-Hayward that attended the incident said 'We are so thankful that we could be there for Stuart's friends, and are thrilled to be supported by the South Devon Athletic Club as their Charity of the Year for 2023. We are very much looking forward to the exciting events they have planned & want to thank everyone involved.'
Stuart and the club are looking forward to raising funds and awareness of the charity’s work.
