LEAGUE OF FRIENDS IN NEWTON ABBOT COMMUNITY HOSPITAL SUPPORT LOCAL LIFE SAVING CHARITY

The League of Friends in Newton Abbot Community Hospital kindly donated an amazing £3790 to local charity BASICS Devon to purchase 2 x capnotrue monitors, a vital piece of emergency medical equipment for their volunteer responders.




Dr Simon Scott-Hayward, a BASICS Devon volunteer responder, Chair and Trustee for BASICS Devon met with the League of Friends to thank them and demonstrate the new monitors they have provided and give them a tour of his lifesaving kit and vehicle.




BASICS Devon is a network of 14 emergency volunteer doctors providing immediate access to specialist medical care at the scene of an accident or illness. Making themselves available around the clock throughout the year, responding to incidents at the request of the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. So far BASICS Devon have responded to approximately 340 call outs this year. The charity relies solely on donations.
