BASICS Devon a small local charity is delighted to be chosen to benefit from the amazing Co-op Local Community Fund.
At a time when funds for community groups and charitable organisations are becoming more difficult to access, BASICS Devon volunteer doctors are incredibly grateful and want to say thank you to the Co-op staff and customers for this opportunity to make a real difference in Devon.
The Chaddlewood Co-op store at Glen Road in Plympton is the charities host and Amie Bull Fundraising Manager for BASICS Devon and volunteer BASICS Devon Immediate Care Doctor Ian Higginson went along to meet the team.
Dr Ian Higginson said “It means a lot to BASICS when local communities choose to support us, since we work in our communities to provide our voluntary emergency care.”
BASICS Devon will be in the Chaddlewood store on Friday 20th March from 9.30am – 12.30pm to talk to customers and staff about BASICS Devon, so do go along and meet the team.
BASICS Devon are raising much-needed funds to support their volunteer doctors to continue to respond to help reduce response times so more patients can be treated to relieve pain and suffering and to help save lives. Their doctors are educators, teaching vital life-saving skills, committed to accessing schools and community groups to offer first aid training. They work closely with other emergency services and want to encourage people to come forward to learn life-saving skills.
To help raise vital funds, BASICS Devon will be relying on Co-op members. When a member buys selected products or services from the Co-op, they earn a 5% reward for themselves, with a further 1% for local causes.
The Co-op is looking to support organisations that make a difference in their local communities by protecting & improving community spaces, helping people reach their full potential by developing their skills or promoting health and wellbeing.
Co-op members can choose BASICS Devon as their local cause by visiting https://membership.coop.co.uk/causes/39218.
They really hope that people will visit the website and donate their 1% to BASICS Devon.
If you’re not a member and would like to support BASICS Devon, you can join at your local store or online at www.coop.co.uk.
When a community comes together, they are able to achieve great things, BASICS Devon hope you can help promote their project.
